Hi Friends,
God is good! Sounds corny but you know what? We have seen God working in so many people’s lives recently, we can’t say it enough!
We have been in Melbourne for 18 months, we look back at great moments of influence. Here are some of the projects we have been involved with.
SOUP VAN MINISTRY
Edwin is involved in YWAM Melbourne soup van ministry, which means feeding those on the streets of Melbourne and having a chat to them. Some of the female YWAM staff reach out to the “working girls” on the streets too. In the last 3 weeks, we have had two people commit their lives to God. We really wanted to share this great news because we know that without all of us working as a team, this wouldn’t have occurred!
MAINLY MUSIC
Every Friday Emma and Sarah join the mothers on the base to run a music program for mums and pre-schoolers. We have about 15 mums and kids join us for some music, dancing, a playtime and some nice coffee and cupcakes. This is a great ministry to our local community.
MISSION ADVENTURES
Earlier this year, Edwin ran a Mission Adventures project on base. We had about 40 teenagers join, for some teaching and outreach to the city of Melbourne. The main projects we did during outreach were: reaching out to the families affected by the horrible bush fires, soup van, kids’ church in the city, prayer station in the city and being involved with different pool parties for the inner city kids.
Some of the testimonies:
Christine (20): mission adventures has really helped me with my walk with God.
Jorddan (18): I learnt a lot about myself and a lot about God I didn’t know before; my eyes being opened to a whole other side of God and myself!
Joanna (17) I have an amazing time just really refocusing on God and what he wants for my life.
Anna (17) I think I am beginning to understand that MA is about more than just those ten days, and it really can be how you live your life, purposefully loving those around you.
Jess (16) MA this year helped me listen to God speaking to me this year, and learning more about my spiritual gift. It was such an encouraging time as well.
THANKS
So that is the update for this month. We will run an outreach this year to WYD in Spain, so if you want to be involved, let us know. We also have plenty of opportunities for people to work on base here. Exciting times ahead, so why don’t you pray about being part of that!
God bless,
Edwin, Emma and Sarah
